Telling HERstories: Baddies in Books
Join us to celebrate women in history including a Boone youth literature heroine! In this workshop you will hear about the legacy of youth literature in Boone, explore original picture book art, and learn about resources to promote women from history. This workshop is for teacher education majors in all grades and content areas. Every participant will receive a free book and resources for future classroom strategies.
STEAM like your students
Dive into exploring STEAM kits found in K-12 makerspaces. We will provide instructions and inspiration to help get you started on making your own STEAM project. Every participant will leave with a free book, a STEAM craft they've created, resources to use in their classroom, and a DIY STEAM project for their future classroom. Earth’s Next Chapter: Promoting Climate Stories
We will explore youth literature that highlights climate action and environmental justice for all ages and provide you with resources to engage students in meaningful discussion and action. Participants will receive a free book and will take part in a collaborative climate art activity designed to spark conversation and build community.
